Mentees

Whether you’re starting out in your career or you’ve got years of experience, mentoring can play an important and empowering role in your professional growth.

As a mentee, you hold the power to shape your experience of mentoring. To support you on your mentoring journey, we’ve created a detailed collection of free resources specifically for mentees.

Just like any other form of teaching and learning, mentoring is a dynamic and interactive process. That’s why the engaging guides, courses and masterclasses you’ll discover on this page are all designed to help you maximise the benefits of your mentoring relationship.

If you have any questions or feedback about the resources or continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities available to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Teacher Mentoring Programme team by email at tmpenquiries@cognitioneducation.com.

FE mentoring framework and guides

Mentoring and coaching are recognised as highly effective forms of professional development for teachers and trainers – including teachers in the early stages of their careers.

Our FE mentoring framework is a great place to start on your mentoring journey. This framework will give you an overview of the conditions and practices needed for mentoring relationships to thrive.

We’ve also designed an accompanying guide, which we hope you’ll find to be a valuable resource. The guide for mentees gives you a comprehensive look at the chronological progression of your mentee-mentor relationship.

Each chapter of the guide begins with reflective questions and concludes with key recommendations for you to explore and apply. Read it all in one sitting, come back to study sections when you’ve got spare time, or simply refer to the chapters that cover your current needs. Whatever works for you!
