For mentoring to truly be powerful, practitioners need to know how to apply their mentoring skills effectively. That’s why we are hosting a range of resources to help anybody become a more confident and knowledgeable mentor.

FE mentoring framework and guides
The FE mentoring framework and accompanying guide for mentors are a great place to start on your mentoring journey. The guide and the framework outline the essential practices for effective mentoring and coaching, helping you better understand how to be an effective mentor to your mentees. These valuable resources for mentors were developed with practitioners and leaders from the FE sector.
You have on-demand access to these resources, meaning you can take your time to read through them and keep coming back to read more. We recommend saving the docs to your favourites or printing them off so you have them when you need them.
Online Short Course for Mentors
Getting ready to mentor teachers and trainers in FE
We’ve designed a series of free, online short courses specifically for mentors, to introduce you to the current practice of mentoring and coaching teachers in the FE and training sector.
Whether you’re new to mentoring, have prior experience in mentoring and want a refresher, or are considering advancing to our other mentor training programmes (for ‘New and Advanced Mentors’), these courses are suitable for you.
There are three units that you can complete, guiding you through a series of important topics for mentors. You can register for each unit using the links below – this will take you to the Hub registration page to set up an account. Follow the instructions to enter your email address and create a password.
You’ll then receive a verification email from hub@aspiredevelopment.co.uk with a link to confirm your account. (Check your spam folder if the email doesn’t come through to your inbox.) Simply click on the link in the confirmation email, log in to the Hub, and start your course.
Each unit involves around 2 hours of independent, interactive learning split into short modules, which you can access and complete at any time that’s convenient for you.

Masterclass: Webinar for Mentors
Our live webinar masterclass for mentors is a great opportunity to collaborate with other mentors and hear from subject-matter experts and other FE organisations.
As a response to the current needs of mentors in the sector, this masterclass will provide you with:

- The opportunity to ask questions and share experiences of mentoring with subject-matter experts
